Who We Are
John Umina – President and Founder
John graduated
from Lowell University with an associate’s degree in Electronic
engineering technology and a BS in business administration. Experience
includes the design and manufacturing of computer equipment
and alarm systems, troubleshooting and installing home systems and
the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards, Windows and
Unix computer systems and computer programming.
John started Interactive
Home Systems in 1986 and has followed the industry from its infancy,
having worked as an apprentice electrician and acquired training
from the Consumer Electronics Association. John uses his experience
in computer technology and networking to blend the installation,
setup and programming of many systems for home use.
Peter Hughes – Integration technology
Peter has experience in high end audio systems for musicians and sound rooms. His background in audio and electronics with a good understanding of programming makes him a valuable player in all types of home integration.
Ed Grenon – Project Management
Ed comes
to Interactive Home Systems from the purchasing and management side
of the business and also has a background in home construction and
wiring. He provides the much-needed control and organization of
a home project to make sure all facets of the project will be completed
in a timely and professional manner. Ed has also completed training
in home wiring and project management.
As a team, these individuals
work closely to make sure every project is completed to the satisfaction
of the home owner or contractor. They all have authority to consult
with the customer, during the project, to provide the best possible
finished product.
